Biomass potential still high in Soča valley

Jul 31, 2012

Bovec, Kobarid and Tolmin on their way to long distance district heating on biomass.

Local resources are the most efficient way of dealing with a long term sustainability. Municipalities in the Soča valley are aware of the fact that more efforts are needed in the future. Bovec is in the process of tendering a company that would invest into the heating system. Also Kobarid and Tolmin are on the same train, but with some more actions to be done before. Together with Alpstar activities two preinvestment studies are in preparation phase and also some energy performance checks of public buildings are being done. This will give the municipalities the necessary input to include important stakeholders in the future planning process.
