Water reservoir Wollanig

The reservoir was built from prefabricated concrete components in the district of Oberwollanig in 2011. Its 2 thermic siphons have a capacity of 50 m³ and are fed by a pump station.
The fog free altitude and southern exposure of the reservoir offered the installation of building-integrated photovoltaics. The polygonal cladding will produce an annual yield of 4’500 kWh of which only 1’000 kWh are consumed by the reservoir itself.
Within their calculated life span of 25 years the photovoltaics can save a total of 87,5 tons of CO2.
