Climate action plan of Bressanone
With beginning of 2013 the city of Bressanone (20.000 inhabitants, located northern Italy in the Alps) will issue its climate action plan.
Vulnerability to energy expenditure of tenants of the public housing office of the department of Isère (France)
The activities of the action program include the determination of the main factors of energy vulnerability of inhabitants, the most efficient actions to reduce it and then implement refurbishment. The targets are to reduce greenhouse gases emissions and to reduce economic vulnerability of inhabitants. The work is conducted with employees of OPAC 38, and is linked to the Agenda 21.
Ski resorts: how to reduce energy consumption of mechanical equipments ?
Since few dozen of years, as a common reorientation of the global economic sectors in the Alps, tourism took more and more importance in comparison to the others (agriculture, industry,…). In the Pays SUD (Serre Ponçon Ubaye Durance, France): 80% of employees are linked to tourism, and mainly to the winter ski activities.
Valtellina Valley toward carbon neutrality by 2050
Considering its typically alpine features, FLA identified Valtellina Valley as the ideal region where to cultivate the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. Starting from a preliminary analysis to identify the most critical sectors in terms of carbon emissions, FLA undertook two pilot actions relating to transport and energy issues.
Young, mentally handicapped, musically talented
Language, environment and a distance of over 800 kilometres separate the two orchestras of Tétras Lyre and the Miners' Brass Band. On 7 September the musicians from Chambéry and Idrija will be giving their first joint concert at the Alpine Week in Poschiavo. On stage will be around 90 people -all talented, some very young, some mentally handicapped.
